Pattern Impact is engineered to meet the stringent criteria set by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) in regards to lead and phthalate content that applies to all products designed or intended by a manufacturer to be used by children under 12 years old when they play. Phthalates are mainly used as plasticizers, commonly used to soften polyvinyl chloride or help it to remain flexible. The 6 phthalatates are not to exceed concentrations of 0.1% in any product that applies. As of August, 2011, lead must not exceed 300 parts per million (PPM).
